At Hamby Catering & Events, we love when our clients give us the opportunity to be creative with our presentation, especially when a theme like Halloween is involved! For this Halloween-themed cocktail party, we took many of our standard menu items, such as the mexican layer dip, and incorporated a twist – enter the ghostly graveyard dip.

Hamby Catering & Events is thrilled to support Operation Home’s Drum It Up event with a live auction item, all proceeds benefitting Operation Home. The 6th Annual Drum It Up event, presented by ARA (Apartment Realty Advisors), is taking place this Sunday, October 23 from 6-10pm at Red Drum Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Tickets are still available for purchase here. This year’s fiesta-themed event will include a silent & live auction, delicious food and beverage from award-winning Chef Ben Berryhill.
Operation Home’s mission is to help people remain in their homes by increasing safety and accessibility. Operation Home is committed to ensuring that no person is forced to live in a home that is inaccessible or unsafe. Their work focuses on the people who need us the most: households that contain children, a person with a disability, or the elderly.

Jenny & Dan’s August 13th wedding reception at Founders Hall was captured perfectly by Juliet Elizabeth in all its yellow and grey glory. Every detail was swoon-worthy, including the bride’s cascading pearl necklaces; you may remember Jenny’s bridal portraits. Included below are a few details coordinated by Hamby Catering & Events, including the delicious food (with Lowcountry shrimp & grits), the cake by Ashley Bakery, the floral arrangements by Lisa Ferguson and rentals by Snyder. One of our favorite details was the bird nest cake topper with “Jenny & Dan” personalized “eggs”!

We are always striving to provide our customers with the latest, greatest services and trends offered within the wedding industry. In keeping with this effort, two of the Hamby team members attended the Wedding MBA Conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center, September 12-15, 2011. The conference was focused on the business side of the wedding industry, with particular focus on marketing and customer service. Allison Orvin, Customer Relations Representative and Candice Wigfield, Director of Marketing and Community Relations, represented Hamby at the conference and made many new contacts from across the United States, Mexico and the British Virgin Islands. We love meeting new people in our industry, as it gives us insight into ways that we can improve and expand our offerings at Hamby. Expect some new changes to Hamby’s look, including a new logo and increased activity on our blog, Facebook & Twitter!
