In August, a once in a lifetime event is taking place in Charleston: a total solar eclipse. That’s right. Scientists have predicted that Charleston is in a direct line to experience five to six minutes of total darkness around 2:38 pm as the moon passes over the sun on August 21st of this year. These occurrences are very rare, the last one that happened in the U.S. was more than 30 years ago in Hawaii.
In order to make this phenomenon even more celebrated, Hamby Catering has created a limited-edition Eclipse Eats menu. This offering includes a $69 catering package that serves up to 8 guests as well as additional à la carte options that start at $14.
The menu features Hamby’s famous Tea Sandwiches, our Praline Pimento Cheese Ball, Housemade Pickled Okra & Baby Carrots, Cold Spinach Artichoke Dip, and our Sweet Potato Biscuits with Carolina Pit Ham. This easy, to-go option is perfect for getting your friends together and watching this historic event. You can learn more about the eclipse via Charleston Goes Dark!
To order, please call 843-725-4035 or you can order online. For a limited time, every package sold will come with eclipse viewing glasses so you can watch the eclipse in style. Don’t delay, orders will be accepted until 6 pm on August 18th and pick-up will happen on Monday, August 21st.
