Originally from Johns Island, Ms. Mayell is a culinary arts graduate of Johnson & Wales University. She currently serves as a Production Manager; in this role she organizes and expedites event menu needs, tests new menu items and continues with her original passion of baking, namely Hamby’s famous buttermilk, sweet potato, shortcake and pimento cheese biscuits! She also serves as supervisor to a culinary crew of both regular and seasonal kitchen associates.
Ms. Maybell has been working at Hamby Catering & Events for more than 30 years. Hired initially as a baker, Ms. Maybell’s skill and enthusiasm was quickly recognized by Hamby’s founder Fran Hamby, who promoted her to a leadership role in the kitchen after her first month on the job.
