SEWE 2017 Recap

For the third year in a row, Hamby Catering was honored to fuel some 40,000+  guests at the 2017 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. This year, we set up and served housemade favorites including, Chicken Bog, Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Housemade Potato Chips. Plus, we debuted our donut machine in Marion Square.

The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition was established in 1982 and since then, has grown from 100 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees to the largest event of its kind in the nation. This year, we saw nearly 43,000 attendees flock to downtown Charleston to visit with more than 500 artists and hundreds of exhibitors.

We also saw record success having served more than 1,500 Chicken Bogs, 7,000 donuts, and over 800 house-made sandwiches! Records were broken outside of our tents as well: 6 of our employees held a snake for the first time, 1 lucky staffer won a YETI cooler  and we all wanted to adopt 100% of the dogs we saw in Marion Square.

All in all, it was an absolutely wild weekend and so much fun! We look forward to seeing you all at SEWE in 2018! You can find more information about the event here.

Be Hoppy – The Easter Menu is Here!

Hamby’s Easter menu allows you to spend the holiday at a leisure while enjoying quality time with your family and friends at home. Our fresh take on Easter ham includes our signature Pineapple Raisin glaze – don’t be surprised if guests ask for seconds! Shared alongside the traditional favorites like Macaroni & Cheese and Green Beans, and finished with a Strawberry Pie, we have no doubt all of your guests will leave hoppy.

Hamby Seasonal Easter Menu – $99 (Serves 8)

  • Brussels Sprout Salad with Gala Apples, Dried Cherries, Sliced Almonds & Champagne Vinaigrette
  • Bourbon Glazed Carolina Pit Ham (Approx. 4 lbs) with Pineapple Raisin Sauce
  • Baked Macaroni & Cheese
  • Scalloped Potatoes
  • Southern Green Beans with Carmelized Onions & Bacon
  • Housemade Sweet Potato Biscuits

À la Carte – $18

  • Strawberry Pie with Whipped Cream

Packages serve approximately 8 guests and are available for pick-up on Saturday, April 15th from 9am-6pm. To accommodate the demand, we kindly ask that you place your orders prior to April 12th.
