Hamby Catering and Events has started off 2024 with a new addition to their team, Executive Chef Tom Donnelly. Donnelly brings his knowledge of both Lowcountry and international cuisine to Hamby Catering’s celebrated culinary team, as well as a fresh vision to usher Charleston’s oldest locally owned and operated catering company into its 45th year of business.

Donnelly’s experience spans multiple decades, including stays in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Phoenix and Nagoya, Japan. His skills were not only honed in the regional cuisine he was immersed in, but also in the building of a private-label raw juice cleanse. Donnelly’s expertise was also seen in action at world-renowned events, including those hosted at the New York City Marathon and the AKC annual dog show.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to bring my skills to Charleston’s most celebrated caterer,” said Donnelly. “Their reputation is a testament to their longstanding customer trust, service and, of course, lauded cuisine.”
Donnelly also brings his skills to The Rutledge Room, Hamby Catering’s flagship event venue, located in the reimagined Hominy Grill space downtown Charleston, SC.
“I have the privilege of coming on to the team as their established brand heads into a new venture,” said Donnelly. “This is not my first go at opportunities like this, and look forward to its continued growth and success.”
