Kara, a Virginia native, has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. She graduated from Radford University with a BS in Hospitality Management. In 2008, Kara relocated to the booming city of Charleston to begin her career journey. She spent five years at Kiawah Island Golf Resort before exploring the wild west of Colorado and Sedona, Arizona. After returning to the east coast, Kara spent two years in Charlottesville, VA at Keswick Hall. She made her way south, returning to Charleston in 2019, where spent three years with Mercantile & Mash and The Cedar Room. Most recently, Kara was a part of the Catering and Conference Services team at the Sanctuary Hotel before joining Hamby Catering in May of 2023 in the role of Event Producer. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach and wrangling her two dogs, Loki and Kai.
