Marie McGuirk

Marie was inspired to cook by her grandmother, who made use of her one-acre garden and livestock to provide homemade cheeses, milk and more for her culinary creations. Under the tutelage of Chef Sean Kinsella in Dublin, Ireland, Marie first ventured into the world of food. Once she came back state-side, she returned to her home of the greater Boston area, where she simultaneously pursued her law degree and worked in a variety of hotels and restaurants. Most recently, Marie served as a catering chef at the College of Charleston and was named by Aramark as an Extraordinary woman.

Marie’s passions lie in the preservation of historic recipes, as well as exploring local and sustainable cuisine. Marie is a mother of seven and has four rescue Dachshunds. Marie is thrilled to bring her pastry knowledge to Hamby Catering’s esteemed culinary offerings and pay homage to Hamby’s storied and celebrated history.
