We just closed out another Volvo Car Open and are so humbled to have served as the official tournament caterer for the fourth year! The 2018 tennis tournament was as a whirlwind experience with nine days of non-stop service! From operations to full-service catering, our team aced it with no foot faults.

This year, we worked the crowd from all angles during the tournament – serving up meals, snacks and desserts to VIP attendees, media, players and fans.

For the players, we kicked off the day with a custom omelet station to jump-start their bodies. For lunch and dinner, we fed healthy options like chicken and veggies, a salad bar and made to order pasta to keep their energy up.

We also sliced and diced everything from sliders to Pimento Cheese Sandwiches, and Lobster Flatbread for the ACE lounge – the ultimate fan experience at the Volvo Car Open.


We brought back our crowd favorite homemade donut machine and made more than 30,000 donuts in our concourse concessions. A record-breaking amount of this sweet treat!

Our donuts weren’t the only things winning this year, 2018 champion Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands beat out Julia Goerges with the landside final score of 6-2, 6-1.

Hamby even received some air-time this year during the tournament’s all-access media hour. Charleston’s hometown tennis pro, Shelby Rogers hosted the “Southern Taste Test” and Hamby provided the southern treats. Rogers showed some top WTA players the best of our traditional southern cuisine including, Tomato Pies, Pickled Okra, Deviled Eggs, and more! We managed to get four thumbs up from Madison Keys and didn’t fail to impress last year’s champion Daria Kasatkina!
