From rich history and breathtaking views to the sophisticated Southern culinary scene, couples from across the globe flock to Charleston every season to tie the knot. The Hamby team has the distinct pleasure of attending beautiful events across the Lowcountry yearlong and has a front row view to the stunning venues that our hometown has to offer.  Today, we’re shining a spotlight on one of Charleston’s scenic outdoor wedding venues, Wingate Plantation.

Wingate Plantation is the perfect spot for couples seeking a quieter, private ceremony. The picturesque plantation is tucked away on John’s Island and offers beautiful views across the property. Couples exchange vows under a canopy of oaks and Spanish moss, next to the serene, saltwater pond where the reflection of the surrounding landscape on the still water creates a breathtaking backdrop.

There is also a charming 1930s farmhouse located on the property, where brides can get ready with friends and family before making their debut down the aisle. Once the two have been officially announced as the newlyweds, guests can gather around the plantation’s giant wedding tent and dance the night away under the chandeliers and stars.

Wingate Plantation’s historical roots, tranquil ambiance, and natural aesthetic make the property the quintessential location for Lowcountry weddings and events. We’re sure you can see why this is one of Hamby’s favorite destinations to cater! Stunning!
