Candice Culbertson Hudnall, President and Owner of Hamby Catering & Events has been recognized as a 2024 Women in Business Honoree by the Charleston Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, Greenville Business Magazine and The Grand Strand B2B Magazine in their annual awards. After seven years with Hamby Catering & Events, founder Fran Hamby entrusted ownership of the company to Hudnall and her father, Wayne Culbertson. Since assuming ownership, Hudnall has achieved numerous accolades. She was named to Charleston’s Forty Under Forty list in 2017 and was a part of Leadership Charleston’s class of 2019. Under her leadership, Hamby Catering & Events has been recognized as Post & Courier’s Charleston’s Choice Top Caterer for seven consecutive years and was listed among shiftNOW’s 2023 Top 23 Places to Work. The Hamby Catering & Events Mobile Market Pop-ups have returned for the summer season to Mt. Pleasant and Downtown Charleston. Patrons can find Hamby Catering’s mobile offerings at Cummings Wealth Management, Schirmer Insurance Group and The Rutledge Room, Hamby’s flagship venue. Hamby Catering’s idea for their pop-ups stemmed from hearing their clients’ desire to experience Hamby fare and flavors, all while meeting their patrons right where they live, work and play. Hamby’s Mobile Market will be present in Mt. Pleasant every Wednesday from 11AM-4PM, alternating every other week from Schirmer Insurance Group and Cummings Wealth Management. On Thursdays and Fridays, Hamby will be present at their flagship event venue, The Rutledge Room, from 11AM-2PM. Hamby’s Rutledge Room pop-ups will offer Market at Hamby favorites, including tea sandwiches and frozen family meals, as well as grab-n-go lunch options, curated by the Hamby Catering culinary team and featuring locally sourced ingredients including rosemary found in their Rutledge signature rosemary Italian sandwich. Also new to the Rutledge Room pop-ups is the ability to order ahead via Hamby Catering’s website. Hamby Catering and Events has started off 2024 with a new addition to their team, Executive Chef Tom Donnelly. Donnelly brings his knowledge of both Lowcountry and international cuisine to Hamby Catering’s celebrated culinary team, as well as a fresh vision to usher Charleston’s oldest locally owned and operated catering company into its 45th year of business. “Excited is an understatement,” said Hamby Catering’s President & Owner, Candice Hudnall. “Our tagline is Southern, Timeless, Inventive – three words we feel embody the work of Chef Tom Donnelly and the innovation he will inspire amongst our team.” Donnelly’s experience spans multiple decades, including stays in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Phoenix and Nagoya, Japan.
